khadiijah4islam:

‎”I know a man who lost his parents at a young age. He was man enough to love a strong woman years older than him, worked for her and made her stronger, opened his heart to her, shared his fears to no one but her. He was romantic and was faithful to her till her last breath. Cleaned after himself and sewed his own clothes. He was good looking, courageous and fearless. He never judged anyone on their pasts or looks, and was moderate, open minded and tolerant. His neighbour was Jewish and his cousin-in- law was a Christian priest. Beaten and exiled when he was helpless, he was merciful when he became stronger. Intelligent, wise and a hard worker, he built a long lasting nation out of nothing in the last 20 years of his life. He had no parents, but loved his daughters and grandchildren. His last will was “Be good to women”. This man was a mercy for all mankind, this is my Prophet Muhammad salalahu alayhi wasalaam Peace be Upon Him”

zuleikha:

Always busy yourself with the word of the Quran, and know that the meaning of the whole world is in that one word of the Quran.

“I have followed the entire Quran and found that the gist of every verse and story is this:

‘O servant, cut yourself off from all but Me, for that which you attain through others, you will attain through me without obligation to anyone else. And that which you will attain through Me, you will attain through no one else. You who follow Me, follow Me more closely.’

‘Prayer is joining with God and alms is joining with God and fasting is joining with God.’  These are the means of joining with God, and every joining brings with it joy, just as sitting next to a beloved brings joy and resting your head on her shoulder brings joy. Whether you read from the beginning of the Quran or from the end of the Quran, the Quran says this:

‘O you who are sundered from Me, join Me, for He who is separated from the Living One is of the dead.’

— Baha al-Din Valad, the father of Rumi

“When gratitude dies, our faith goes with it. The indulgence we’ve created for ourselves is killing gratitude. It is therefore no surprise that we’re having a crisis of faith.”
